Our Approach to Health is Different…

Reconnecting You With What Health Was Always Meant to Be

The medical system that most people are familiar with in the United States separates the body by system, your body is divided into parts, and each part is assigned a specialist. You’re sent to a cardiologist for your heart, a gastroenterologist for your gut, an endocrinologist for your hormones. Labs are checked just enough to fall within “normal” ranges, and when symptoms arise, the solution is often a prescription—without much exploration of why you feel the way you do.

At Destination Vitality, I believe that approach misses the point and is likely why so many people are struggling.

It is important to recognize the benefits of the medical system, emergency care, life saving surgical interventions, appropriate use of prescription medication that works well… BUT

Your body doesn’t work in compartments. Your gut affects your brain. Your nervous system affects your hormones. Your past experiences and your psychological health affect your immune system. Health is not just physical—it’s emotional, environmental, and deeply personal. That’s why our approach is radically different, and combines many modalities of healing instead of trying to promote one as better than the other.

Here's how:

🔍 Root-Cause Investigation
We don’t chase symptoms—we ask better questions. Using advanced functional testing, we dig deeper than the standard panels most doctors run. We look at optimal values, not just “normal” ranges, because we’re not interested in the minimum needed to survive (or the averages based on an unhealthy population)—we’re focused on what it takes to thrive.

🍽️ Personalized Nutrition
Nutrition is not one-size-fits-all. Instead of broad recommendations like "eat more whole grains," we consider food sensitivities, blood sugar patterns, gut integrity, and even how your nervous system responds to food. In many parts of the world, food is seen as medicine. At Destination Vitality, we implement some of that wisdom.

🌿 Whole-Body, Whole-Life Healing
In healthier cultures around the world, wellness isn't compartmentalized. It's integrated—your sleep, relationships, exposures to toxins, stress, mindset, and environment are all part of the equation. We follow that same philosophy. Healing happens when all parts of you are working in harmony, not in isolation.

🧠 Mind-Body Integration
We include cutting-edge neuropsychobiology and rewiring techniques to address the emotional and psychological stressors that often lead to physical illness. Your story matters. Your past matters. We listen, because those pieces are part of the puzzle mainstream medicine often overlooks.

🧪 Functional Testing, Not Just Diagnostics
Where traditional medicine stops at disease, we go further to detect imbalance—whether it's early-stage inflammation, hormone dysregulation, gut microbiome shifts, or toxin load. This allows us to be proactive, not reactive.

📊 Lab Results You Can Understand
Instead of a vague “everything looks fine,” your labs are explained in detail. You’ll know what your results mean, what’s out of balance, and what we’re going to do about it—together.

A Journey to Better Health…

Destination Vitality Ltd. was established in 2021 by Dana Gallik, CRNP.

For years, I did everything "right"—followed the protocols, worked within the system, took the medications I was prescribed, and chased symptom relief. But deep down, I knew something was missing. Not just for my patients, but for myself.

I battled my own health frustrations since I was in middle school—symptoms that didn’t fit cleanly into any diagnosis, fatigue that no lab work could explain, and emotional stress that was ultimately blamed for all of my symptoms- but at the same time dismissed as “normal.” Each time I sought help, I was handed a prescription, a referral, or a shrug. I followed through, I tried the medications, I saw the specialists, I had imaging and testing done but still - no relief. I truly believe part of the reason I became a Nurse Practitioner, was so that in addition to be able to help people, I’d be able to finally get to the bottom of the symptoms I’d been experiencing since childhood, then - even with a really great primary care NP, and the agreement that I wouldn’t have done anything different based on what I knew, there was no explanation. The traditional model felt broken. It wasn't giving people real answers—just bandaids.

That was my turning point.

I discovered functional medicine when I was at my lowest—physically, emotionally, and professionally burned out. What I found wasn’t just a new set of tools; it was a new lens through which to understand the human body. It connected the dots no one else was looking at. I applied it to my own healing, and the results were undeniable. I finally understood what was happening in my body—and how to fix it. There are plenty of health programs out there that claim to be “easy” - that probably are as long as you have a full-time nanny, a housekeeper, a personal chef, and you can dedicate every waking moment to healing -I know that 99% of the time, that is not the case and it certainly wasn’t my situation. Really busy kids, full-time employment, a part-time job, continued education, pets, several volunteer commitments - and I still managed to gain control and understanding of my health for the first time.

Out of that transformation, Destination Vitality was born. We design your plan together, so that it’s feasible, family friendly and there is no wagon to fall off of.

This is the practice I wish existed when I needed it most. It’s not about chasing symptoms or masking pain. It’s about listening deeply, investigating thoroughly, and building a personalized roadmap to true health—one that considers your past, your stress, your environment, your life and your goals.

I’ve combined my background in emergency medicine with advanced training in functional medicine, leadership, transformational psychology, neurobiology and trauma-informed care to help people reclaim their health, vitality, and clarity.

This isn’t just a job for me. It’s personal. It’s purpose-driven. And it’s proof that healing is possible when you're finally seen, heard, and understood.
